Over the last couple of years, a number of cases have been reported, where fire fighters lives were lost due to getting entangled among the loose hanging wires and cables. This was caused by the plastic trunking around cables and conduits melting, leaving the exposed wires to hang free.
Codes of practice BS 5839-1 and BS 7671 recommend the use of fire resistant cable fixing systems that would hold the cables out of the way, allowing secure evacuation for staff and residents, as well as providing a safer working environment for firefighters conducting search and rescue operations within the premises.
To fulfill these recommendations, as well as reducing hazards posed by the hanging cables, we have developed our Fireproof Cable Support System; which will hold the cables in place, allowing safer evacuation and re-entry by fire fighters, long after items like plastic trunking, tubing and armoured cables have melted.
